Role

The Functional Developer reports to the Manager, Functional Development and works with a diverse team including a Project Manager, Business Analysts, a Team Leader, Developers and QAS.

Your Day with Equisoft

  • Configure business processes based on defined business requirements
  • Configure product features (such as calculations) based on product specifications
  • Load product rates and define product parameters
  • Configure access and security roles
  • Use OIPA built-in functionality where possible to meet business requirements
  • Collaborate with the technical team to ensure integrations are supported through configuration
  • Maintain and grow insurance industry and technical knowledge competencies

    • Requirements

    Technical

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology and 3 years of relevant experience

    • Experience

  • Programming experience; specifically, procedural programming
  • Strong understanding of SQL and general database concepts (querying and optimization)
  • Ability to communicate, write and synthesize information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Strong sense of organization and prioritizing
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate, write and synthesize information
  • Ability to multi-task in a rapid-paced environment

  • Experience with Insurance Policy Administration is a strong asset
