Role Summary
We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Head of Business Development, United States to lead and manage our regional Business Development team across the US. This is a senior leadership position with full accountability for developing and executing the sales strategy across all service modalities. The role will focus on building, mentoring, and managing a high-performing team to drive new business, expand existing accounts, and support the long-term commercial growth of Biosynth’s CDMO services.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the US Business Development team, setting targets, coaching team members to achieve revenues and new programs targets, and ensuring alignment with corporate strategy.
- Develop and implement a regional growth strategy across Biosynth services modalities : small molecules, peptides, bioconjugation, and enzymes, through effective recruitment, coaching, mentoring and training of the business development team
- Oversee pipeline development and ensure the team meets annual revenue and customer acquisition targets
- Partner with strategic marketing across the different modalities to align customer needs with capabilities and capacity across Biosynth services sites
- Collaborate with Marketing to lead regional marketing efforts and position Biosynth as partner of choice in strategic niche markets, including key industry events, and trade shows
- Support team members in high-value client engagements, contract negotiations and delivering positive customer experience.
- Build a culture of accountability, performance, and collaboration within the Business Development function.
- Provide business insights including market trends, pricing, competitive analysis based on market input
- Provide regular forecasting, reporting, and strategic input to the EVP, Life Sciences.
Qualifications
Proven leadership experience in a commercial or business development role in the CDMO or pharmaceutical services sector.Strong track record in managing and developing high-performing sales or BD teams.In-depth understanding of one or more modalities : small molecules, peptides, bioconjugation, enzymes.Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.Results-driven with experience managing complex sales cycles and closing multimillion-euro contracts.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or related field.Willingness to travel across US as needed.Why Join Us
