Senior Project Control Officer - Termino Fijo role at ScotiaGBS Colombia del grupo Scotiabank.
Reporting to the Senior Delivery Manager, the Senior PCO will support planning, revenue, payment processing, monthly and quarterly forecasts, pre-quarter updates, actuals, accruals, and expenses for the project budgets and ongoing collections charge-outs. The role includes in-depth financial analysis to support strategic projects and initiatives, collaboration with IT, Business, and vendor teams, and leadership in executing standard financial governance processes to implement collection solutions in compliance with governing regulations and internal policies.
Purpose
The Senior PCO will assist the Senior Delivery Manager with financial analysis and support project managers in executing project tasks. The role requires interaction with project members across IT, Business, and vendors, and applying governance to ensure alignment with risk and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial forecasts and year-end carryforwards per Bank deadlines using the Forecast System.
- Enter forecast accruals in appropriate tools before monthly cycles.
- Ensure SLAs are met for financial monthly and quarterly reports and drive KPIs.
- Identify and communicate financial and progress risks, issues, and deviations over the project life cycle.
- Support project reporting, including regular status reporting and ad-hoc presentations.
- Perform financial management activities such as project budget forecasting and payment processing following bank guidelines for components of the budget (Toronto, GBS, countries / regions).
- Create financial Project Change Requests (PCRs) to allocate costs to the correct budget components / cost elements.
- Process payments, track and report on invoices, third-party, and licensing costs.
- Use Smart Stream to track invoices submitted to accounts payable and investigate discrepancies between invoices and contracts as needed.
- Update financial information for Executive Steering Committee documents.
- Assist in preparing cost estimates in response to scope changes.
- Develop new processes / templates to enhance existing processes.
- Administer document repository (SharePoint) : store program and portfolio management documents, keep them up to date, and assist users in locating documents.
- Collaborate with countries / regions on financial management of the budget per the approved business case, building strong partnerships.
- Schedule and participate in project meetings, capture key decisions, communicate decisions promptly, and follow up on actions.
- Manage tracking, reporting, and maintenance of Risk, Action Items, and Issues across PM tools; act as project secretary (agendas, minutes, action items, distribution lists).
- Multitask across multiple projects as needed and support creation / update of new Business Cases for Collection Solutions.
- Conduct status review sessions and escalate issues as necessary.
- Incorporate the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture into day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Operate in alignment with Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles with appropriate controls for operational, compliance, AML / ATF / sanctions, and conduct risk.

Qualifications
Languages : Fully bilingual in English & Spanish.
Education :
A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.Holding a valid PMP designation from PMI or another valid program management certification is a nice-to-have.Experience :
3+ years of relevant experience in a similar role and managing budgets over $10MM.Solid understanding of financial and management reporting principles.Comprehensive knowledge of project / program management methodologies and tools, including Agile and Waterfall.Strong problem-solving, quantitative and analytical skills; attention to detail; ability to analyze results and identify issues / trends.Experience balancing competing / stakeholder requests; financial industry knowledge is an asset.Expert in MS Excel and PowerPoint; advanced experience with MS Project, Visio, and Word.Solid knowledge of tools such as Clarity and SharePoint repositories.Analytical thinker with strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to maintain Program financials with discipline.Ability to support multiple programs / projects simultaneously.Working Conditions
