Overview
Power Transformer Engineer - Relocate to Saudi Arabia. We are seeking a Power Transformer Specialist – Medium Voltage, High Voltage, and Extra High Voltage to join the Technical Services Division of Power Systems Projects & Technical Support Department. The Technical Services Division provides and manages highly technical engineering services to support the safe and reliable operation of Saudi Aramco electrical power system generation, transmission and distribution networks. The power transformer engineer works under the transformers unit within the technical services unit. Your primary role is to provide high level technical advice regarding transmission and distribution power transformers, from selection to retirement of assets, with thorough understanding of different designs, manufacturers, installations and issues related to the field. Candidate must relocate to Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities
- Serves as Subject Matter Expert in equipment failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis on all critical equipment failures.
- Review power transformers maintenance programs to identify improvements for safe and reliable operation of HV assets.
- Provide technical consultation to maintenance agencies for critical spare parts lists.
- Assess the condition of aging power transformers.
- Troubleshoot failures, repairs, and evaluate if equipment meets service conditions.
- Provide engineering input for power transformer work packages to ensure Aramco standards and material specifications are followed.
- Offer onsite technical support for critical power transformers.
- Represent the organization in industry and professional organizations, users' groups addressing electrical codes and standards.
- Review and update company standards and stay familiar with international standards.
- Demonstrate strong technical training, communication, and customer service skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. Advanced degree and Professional Engineering certificates (e.g., chartership or PE) are a plus.Minimum of 8 years in Power Transformer operation and maintenance, with experience related to Power Transformer Design.Demonstrated experience as a transformer specialist, such as contributions to international conferences or employment by a leading Power Transformer manufacturer.Deep technical knowledge of transformer construction and design practices for distribution and transmission transformers, including diagnostic testing, condition assessment, aging characteristics / symptoms related to corrosion.Familiarity with transformer Factory Acceptance Tests and compliance with manufacturing standards such as IEC.Participation as a member in relevant CIGRE Working Groups.Ability to multi-task, manage changing priorities, and proactively seek opportunities to improve results and processes, contributing to safety and profitability.Working environment
