Purpose

Contributes to the success of the execution of the Global Communications Supervision Procedures on behalf of GBM Internal Controls to ensure compliance with the Code of Conduct, internal policies & procedures, the Global FX Code, industry standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Ensures all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Accountabilities

1. Customer Focused Culture : Champions a customer-focused culture and leverages broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.

2. Business Knowledge : Maintains expert knowledge of Bank processes, policies, procedures, applications, and products related to Global Communications Supervision Procedures and applies this knowledge in the review and analysis of Level 1 communication surveillance activities.

3. Global Communications Supervision : Executes GBM Communication Supervision Procedures, reviews Flagged Alerts to identify potential non-compliant behaviors, and ensures compliance with Bank policies. This includes :

  • Performing review, assessment, disposition, and documentation of alert reviews in accordance with GBM Communication Supervision Procedures and standard times.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of information and ensuring review results are concise and accurate.
  • Escalating and documenting alerts to Level 2 teams as required according to escalation procedures.
  • Maintaining productivity and quality standards as defined through performance metrics.
  • Identifying process, technology, and systems improvement opportunities and participating in implementation.

1. Relationship Management : Develops and maintains strong relationships with GBM Internal Controls and support functions to stay current on new developments and risks.

2. Other Projects and Activities : Manages ad-hoc, focused reviews, and other duties as assigned.

3. Risk Culture : Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and culture influence daily activities and decisions.

4. Regulatory and Operational Risks : Contributes to effective and efficient operations, ensuring controls meet operational, regulatory, AML / ATF, and conduct risk obligations, including adherence to relevant frameworks and guidelines.

Education / Experience

  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and negotiating skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation and interaction with departments.
  • Good accountability and time-management skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of Bank's regulations, policies, procedures, operations, and functions (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Global Banking & Markets business units and related functions across Canadian & International Banking, including delivery channels.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, finance, or accounting.
  • Additional Requirements

    Bilingual in Spanish and English.
