Role : AML Quality Assurance Senior Analyst at Scotiabank. Location : Bogota, Colombia (Bogota, D.C., Capital District, Colombia). Purpose and responsibilities

Contributes to the overall success of the AML Quality Assurance, Global Testing in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Responsible for executing planned testing activities to assess the adequacy, adherence, and effectiveness of controls across Canadian Banking and Global Operations. The individual contributes to the overall success of the Global Testing team by completing regular, ad-hoc, and / or focused reviews as necessary, as well as other testing duties and projects as assigned. Maintains a high level of expertise and knowledge related to enterprise policies and procedures as well as legislative requirements to effectively assess controls.

Accountabilities

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Performs ad-hoc, special, and / or focused reviews as necessary, reports results from testing activities, and independently executes planned testing activities.
  • Develops and maintains strong knowledge related to AML operations, policies and procedures across Canadian and International Banking.
  • Develops and maintains strong knowledge related to regulatory requirements in Canada and other jurisdictions (as required).
  • Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Ensures day-to-day operations align with Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct and Global Sales Principles, and that day-to-day business controls meet regulatory and conduct risk obligations.
  • Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

Education / Experience / Other Information

  • 3+ years of experience in an operational or compliance role in the financial services industry
  • Post-secondary education in Administrative, financial or related fields (not students)
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical thinking
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, challenging and dynamic business environment
  • Superior interpersonal skills, leadership and influential capabilities
  • Self-motivated; able to work independently and with multi-functional teams
  • Working Conditions

  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence
