Priority Location: South or Central America only (Mexico Colombia Costa Rica Panama Chile Argentina)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 20 to 30 hours weekly with required overlap in US West Coast business hours

Salary Range: $3000 to $5000 per month depending on seniority and experience

About the Company: A rapidly expanding real estate development organization with multiple operating entities is moving beyond basic bookkeeping and requires full professional controller-level accounting to support growth standardize systems and prepare for future audits.

About the Role: The Accounting Controller will take full ownership of accounting operations across multiple entities. This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining GAAP accrual accounting standards eliminating manual processes improving financial visibility and creating scalable accounting systems. The successful candidate will step into an environment where foundational work has started and must lead cleanup consolidation reporting system optimization and collaboration with external CPA support.

Key Responsibilities

• Month End Close: Execute complete month end close procedures within seven business days for all entities.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate financial statements including balance sheets income statements and management reporting.
• Multi Entity Consolidation: Manage consolidation across multiple real estate development entities with clear asset and liability classification.
• System Optimization: Maintain and improve automated integrations across Xero banking payroll and reporting tools to reduce manual work.
• Internal Controls: Implement reconciliation processes financial controls and variance analysis to support transparent and accurate reporting.
• CPA Coordination: Support external CPA firms assist with review requests prepare for potential audit and provide technical documentation where needed.
• Development Accounting: Manage revenue recognition capitalization and project level accounting relevant to real estate development.
• Management Reporting: Prepare leadership reporting budget variance analysis and proactive financial management insight.

Role Requirements:

• Language: Professional fluency in English is required.
• Accounting Experience: Minimum three to five years as a controller or senior accountant with proven GAAP accrual accounting experience.
• Technical Software: Advanced Xero proficiency is mandatory as this is the primary ERP system.
• Industry Experience: Real estate development accounting experience is required. Cannabis industry experience is helpful but not mandatory.
• Multi Entity Work: Proven experience managing consolidation intercompany transactions and multi entity reporting.
• Technical Competencies: Strong understanding of internal controls reconciliations month end procedures financial analysis and audit readiness.
• Availability: Must overlap daily with US West Coast business hours.
