Overview
Kenvue Bogota, D.C., Capital District, Colombia. The Direct Materials Sustainability Procurement Manager is responsible for leading sustainability across global procurement operations for chemicals and packaging, driving responsible sourcing, ensuring environmental compliance, managing sustainability certifications, and supporting the Healthy Lives Mission through sustainable innovation. This role reports to the Senior Director Risk, Market Intelligence and ESG and requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Propose and execute global sustainability initiatives for Direct Materials (chemicals and packaging) in consultation with cross-functional teams
- Drive day-to-day activities to embed sustainability into procurement processes for the Direct Materials category
- Collaborate with category teams to ensure suppliers align with Kenvue sustainability goals, providing strategic guidance and support in supplier selection and evaluation
- Drive adoption of certifications such as RSPO (Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil) and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council), among others
- Develop roadmaps to ensure adoption of sustainable certifications in scope, and identify ongoing risks, gaps, and measures to mitigate potential challenges
Regulatory Compliance & Reporting
Support Procurement category teams in adhering to sustainability regulations (e.g., EUDR)Assist risk assessment processes and planning of Direct Materials supplier audits related to sustainabilityMonitor reported sustainability-related grievances concerning Direct Materials suppliers and support grievance management, corrective actions, and remediation as applicableData Management & Transparency
Conduct assessments to track certification status, enhance supply chain traceability and support transparency investigations for all sustainability related certifications in scope for Kenvue (e.g., RSPO, FSC, among others)Prepare and present reports on sustainability impact, supplier compliance, and progress against Healthy Lives Mission and procurement sustainability goalsMaintain accurate documentation and reporting in view of our Healthy Lives Mission, and enhance tracking systems and processes by leveraging digital solutionsStakeholder Engagement & Training
Establish and maintain strong relationships with category managers, buyers and suppliers to stay on top of sustainable options, uphold product, service, and quality standards in sustainable chemicals and packaging procurementSupport Chemicals and Packaging Category Leads to evaluate and select suppliers based on sustainability criteria and negotiate contracts for sustainable sourcing initiativesCo-develop and lead internal training programs on sustainability initiatives for Direct MaterialsExternal Engagement in Chemicals and Packaging (Direct Materials)
Stay informed about key market trends in sustainable chemicals and packaging procurement and provide actionable insights to management for decision-makingMonitor and analyze market trends to inform sustainability strategy decisions and engage with industry groups to stay ahead of best practicesRequired Qualifications
University / Bachelors Degree or Equivalent in a related field6-8 years of experience in procurement or sustainability, with a focus on chemicals and / or packagingProven track record of successfully implementing sustainability initiatives in procurementStrong analytical skills to assess environmental impact and performance metricsExperience with sustainability frameworks and standards related to chemicals and packaging procurementStrong understanding of environmental and social impact assessment in procurement processesDesired Qualifications
Experience with sustainability frameworks and standards related to chemicals and packaging procurementFamiliarity with sustainable sourcing practices and regulations in the chemicals and packaging industryAbility to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to drive sustainability initiativesExcellent communication and negotiation skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders and to effectively convey sustainability objectives and requirementsWhat’s In It For You
