We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Country Manager with a passion for Business Development to lead CFI's growth and development in Colombia. The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of the forex & trading industry, a proven track record of establishing and growing businesses and have a comprehensive understanding of the local regulatory and compliance framework.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategic business plan to launch and grow the company's presence in Colombia.
- Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and stay up to date with industry trends and developments.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, regulatory bodies, marketing agencies, payment service providers, operational vendors and other industry players.
- Identify and evaluate potential partners, clients, and investors to expand the company's customer base and revenue streams.
- Collaborate with the global team to ensure alignment with company‑wide objectives and strategies.
- Monitor and analyse business performance metrics, including sales, revenue, and profitability, and develop and execute plans to address any areas of concern.
- Build and lead a high‑performance local team, including recruiting, training, and motivating staff members to achieve business targets.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and company policies and procedures.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and other relevant forums.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, finance, or a related field.At least 5 years of experience in the forex & trading industry, with a proven track record of establishing and growing new business units.Excellent knowledge of local regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.Detailed understanding of the local market, including key competitors, marketing and sales strategies, payments landscape, pricing and client product & platform expectations.Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.Ability to analyse business performance metrics and develop and execute effective strategies to address areas of concern.Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve business targets.Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability.Fluency in both written and spoken English and the local language is essential.Benefits

We are searching for a Country Manager for Colombia who will be accountable for the growth, profitability, and diversification of the market. It is critical to have a solid background in the financial, payments, eCommerce, and tech industries; and proven established relationships within the payments ecosystem. This role is highly strategic and will rely on existing market knowledge and hands‑on experience with local contacts to drive its success.
Key Responsibilities
Own market volume and revenue growth, responsible for hitting market targets;Manage relationships, opportunities, and issues with merchants, partners, acquirers, banks, processors, government agencies in the local ecosystem;Increase share of wallet, evangelize and energize the company about prospects leveraging supporting data;Ensure payment method and vertical diversification;Ensure cost efficiency and competitive pricing, negotiate cost rates;Develop and foster new opportunities to expand our business and revenue; uncover gaps within the existing business to grow;Analyze market data and results to drive opportunities;Monitor progress of projects, ensuring closure with key teams (performance, legal, tax, operations, product, etc.);Co‑lead marketing plans / PR, including identifying and launching campaign opportunities between partners and clients;Review and evaluate competitors, trends, solutions – be the market intelligence radar;Represent EBANX at regional events and develop deep local partnerships;Ensure contingency plans are in place to address any potential market challenges;Act as the primary market point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, handling escalations as needed;Partner with colleagues to get it done.What’s Mandatory
Native Spanish and Fluent in English. Portuguese a plus.Proven background in the financial, payments, eCommerce, or tech industry;Experience with working in project groups in the financial / payments sector in a strategic capacity;Strong experience working within the Colombian payments and eCommerce ecosystem, including having existing contacts to leverage;Experience working with payment processing and / or acquirer systems;Comprehensive knowledge of market intelligence and account management in complex environments;Based in Bogota, open to remote and hybrid work environments (within Bogota).What else would we like to see?
