This role requires residency in Barranquilla, Colombia . As the Accounting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring adherence to accounting principles. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the executive team to optimize financial procedures and play a key role in the overall expansion of the company.What You Will Do- General Accounting : Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.Close the accounting books each month.Oversee and manage staff accountants.Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure accuracy.Manage the company's foreign currency accounts and transactions.- Financial Reporting : Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with Colombian GAAP.Report final monthly results to US headquarters for consolidation.Generate accurate and timely financial reports for management review.Provide insights and analysis on financial performance to support strategic decision-making.- Payroll : Ensure the Colombia company's monthly payroll is completed accurately and on time.- Tax Compliance : Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with local and federal tax regulations, and file all necessary tax returns.Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations affecting the company.- Audit Management : Manage audits, ensuring timely completion and compliance.Address audit queries and implement recommendations to strengthen internal controls.- Process Improvement : Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the finance department.Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.- Foreign Subsidiary MgmtOversee and supply inputs to outside advisors for transfer pricing studies.What We're Looking For- 7+ years of professional accounting experience, ideally within the software consultancy, IT services, or professional services industries.- Advanced English is required.- Successful completion of a four-year college degree is required in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Certified Accountant designation is preferred.- Solid expertise in transfer pricing, foreign currency management, and subsidiary-level financial oversight.- Deep understanding of Colombian GAAP and familiarity with international accounting principles.- Proficiency in financial software, including Google Sheets, Siigo, QuickBooks, and similar systems.- Proven experience managing and overseeing monthly payroll processes, with a strong track record of accuracy and timeliness.- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with sharp attention to detail.- Ability to work in a dynamic environment, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work on-site at the office as needed in Barranquilla, Colombia.- Residency in Barranquilla, Colombia is required.- A positive mindset and a can-do attitude.- Experience working on Agile / Scrum teams.- Meaningful experience working on large, complex systems.- Ability to take extreme ownership over your work.
