Hello there! OpenWorks is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant for one of our clients. This is a hybrid role. The company, based in the United Kingdom, operates within the Cloud Services industry, delivering smart, scalable solutions to optimize and secure IT operations. What you will do
- Manage the full accounting cycle for the US entity, from journal entries to trial balance and payroll.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger, bank accounts, and intercompany transactions.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of monthly and year-end closings.
- Review and analyze financial reports, provide variance commentary and insights.
- Collaborate with the Group Financial Manager for aligned multi-entity reporting.
- Assist with board packs, budgeting, and cash flow forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with US tax regulations (sales tax, corporate tax, and state filings).
- Liaise with tax advisors, auditors, and external financial partners as needed.
- Prepare statutory financial statements and audit documentation.
- Engage with vendors, customers, and banks to resolve financial queries.
- Partner with internal teams to deliver actionable financial insights.
- Leverage fintech tools to improve workflows, ensure data integrity, and streamline accounting operations.
- Identify automation opportunities and support continuous improvement.
Responsibilities and Requirements
Bachelora3s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Taxation (essential).Advanced English (C1 / C2).Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is a plus; Enrolled Agent status is a plus.5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in multi-entity or international settings.Experience in fast-paced IT or tech environments is advantageous.Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and US tax compliance (sales tax and corporate tax).Experience with US Payroll.Transfer pricing and intercompany transactions experience.Familiarity with cloud-based accounting systems (e.g., Xero, Dext).Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.Initiative, accuracy, and proactive problem-solving.Excellent communication and collaboration across borders and functions.Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data for decision-making.Benefits
