Job Summary
The FinOps Automation and AI Engineer is a key technical resource responsible for integrating automation and artificial intelligence into the FinOps practice. The role focuses on developing and deploying intelligent solutions to manage and optimize cloud spending across multi‑cloud environments, with a special emphasis on AI and ML workloads.
Key Responsibilities
Design and build automation scripts and workflows to implement cost‑saving strategies such as automated rightsizing, resource scheduling, and commitment‑based discounts (Savings Plans, Reserved Instances).Utilize machine‑learning models and LLMs to provide predictive cost forecasting, intelligent anomaly detection, and automated explanations for spending fluctuations.Integrate and standardize AI‑related cloud spending into core cost governance frameworks, creating guidelines and best practices.Develop and maintain automated data pipelines to ingest, normalize, and process cloud cost and usage data from various providers, delivering comprehensive reports and dashboards that accurately attribute costs to business units, teams, and products.Build AI‑powered tooling, self‑service APIs, and dashboards that empower engineering teams with better visibility and control over their cloud budgets and forecasts.Requirements
At least 5 years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or FinOps principles.Full English fluency.Strong background in automation and cloud cost optimization (MUST).Experience with AI and automation (MUST).Cloud architecture experience (desirable).Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex financial data and technical insights to both engineering and non‑technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.Technical Experience
Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and API integration (MUST).Deep knowledge of at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including pricing models, APIs, and services (MUST).Experience with cloud billing APIs and cost management tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, GCP Billing APIs) – desirable.Hands‑on experience with infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform), containerized environments (Kubernetes or similar), and serverless architectures (MUST).Familiarity with AI / ML technologies and cost drivers of AI workloads (GPUs, token‑based APIs).Strong analytical skills, able to query, analyze, and summarize large datasets using SQL, Excel, Tableau, or Power BI.Certifications : FinOps Certified Practitioner (FOCP) or relevant cloud certifications (desired).Benefits
