Job Description — SP Consulting Engineer

Role : Network Consultant Engineer

Focus : Service Provider Customers (Core, Distribution and Access Layers)

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers and other Cisco stakeholders for the successful implementation of projects.
• Deliver Planning, Design, Implementation & Optimization Services to Cisco's major accounts.
• Support Service Provider customers on implementation of new platforms / solutions, migrations, optimizations / redesigns, software strategy and risk mitigation on complex network infrastructure.
• Elaborate documentation in a professional manner : design documents, solution documents, method of procedures, ATPs.
• Apply or support the application of changes during maintenance windows avoiding network failures.
• Evaluate and mitigate risks for successful implementation of solutions or changes.
• Test designs and changes recommended to customer in lab environment.
• Provide consultative, proactive and / or reactive support.
• Give knowledge transfers to customer about technologies or solutions.
• Collaborate with other engineers to ensure successful project delivery.
• Identify and facilitate new business growth opportunities.

It is composed of a large group of engineers in the Americas region. This team works closely with sales and engineering to define project scopes, set expectations, and plan timelines, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with customer business requirements. The consolidation of the CX delivery team enhances Cisco's ability to deliver flexible, scalable, and secure solutions that improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
