Legal Counsel - Renewable Energy

About the Role :
We are looking for a Legal Counsel with solid experience in renewable energy projects to support the legal and regulatory needs of our PV and BESS initiatives in Colombia. This role requires a professional with expertise in permitting, contract negotiation, and regulatory compliance, as well as the ability to coordinate with external legal advisors and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities :
- Permitting & Regulatory Compliance : Assist in obtaining permits, licenses, and governmental authorizations for PV and BESS projects, ensuring full regulatory compliance.
- Grid Access & Connection : Support the legal aspects of interconnection and grid access procedures.
- Contract Review & Negotiation : Draft, review, and negotiate project-related contracts, including land agreements, EPC contracts, and PPAs.
- M&A Transactions : Provide legal support in due diligence processes related to project acquisitions and strategic partnerships.
- Corporate Governance : Assist in corporate legal matters, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory frameworks.
- Litigation & Dispute Resolution : Support legal strategies related to arbitration, disputes, and claims.
Required Qualifications & Skills :
Education : Law degree with a focus on energy, regulatory, or administrative law.Experience : Minimum 5 years of experience in legal roles within the renewable energy sector.Industry Expertise : Familiarity with legal and regulatory frameworks governing PV and BESS project development in Colombia.Contract Management : Experience handling legal agreements related to project financing, land use, and energy sales.Regulatory Knowledge : Understanding of environmental permitting, grid connection requirements, and administrative approvals.Languages : Fluency in Spanish is required; English proficiency is preferred.Seniority level
