What You Will Do
This position reports into LAN TRADE OPERATIONS MANAGER and is based in Cali.
The TRADE OPERATIONS LEAD CONSUMER is responsible for supervising day-to-day transportation service operations, implementing policies and procedures, scheduling domestic and international shipments, and coordinating negotiations with carriers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all trade operations activities for consumer products for the CAM region
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards in trade operations
- Monitor logistics invoices for discrepancies and support logistics initiatives
- Schedule domestic and international shipments, optimizing for cost savings and delivery efficiency
- Solve supplier quality problems and improve business processes
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize trade operations efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement
- Analyze market trends and consumer behavior for data-driven decisions
- Develop transportation service policies, standards, and guidelines
- Collaborate on designing new transportation features and technologies
- Supervise transportation operations to meet service levels and revenue goals
- Implement new technologies to enhance efficiency and performance
- Negotiate transportation service agreements and contracts
- Research transportation methods, rates, and routes for profitability and risk minimization
- Provide carrier selection and routing recommendations
- Implement transportation policies, standards, and procedures
- Investigate damages or shortages, evaluate costs, and process claims
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Trade, or related fieldMinimum of 5 years experience in consumer trade operationsStrong analytical skillsExcellent communication and collaboration abilitiesDeep understanding of international trade regulationsExperience with foreign trade operations in Central America, including regional regulations and logisticsCost management expertiseProficiency in Spanish (native) and intermediate English skillsDesired Qualifications
