Legal Assistant – Personal Injury | Remote | Supporting a U.S. Law Firm

Build Your U.S. Legal Experience. Work Remotely. Make a Difference for Clients.

Are you an experienced Legal Assistant with U.S. personal injury experience looking for the opportunity to work remotely with a growing U.S. legal organization?

briefCASE Legal Support, LLC is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support the attorneys and clients of DJC Law, PLLC, a growing Texas-based personal injury law firm. In this role, you’ll work directly with U.S.-based attorneys, case managers, and clients while supporting personal injury cases throughout the litigation process.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of meaningful legal work, expand your knowledge of U.S. personal injury law, and become an important part of the legal support operation behind a busy personal injury practice.

As a remote independent contractor, you’ll support cases from discovery and court filings through depositions, settlement, and trial preparation, while also drawing on your pre-litigation experience to understand the full lifecycle of a personal injury case.

Why This Opportunity?

  • Work With a U.S. Law Firm: Gain valuable experience supporting attorneys and clients in a U.S.-based personal injury practice.
  • Do Meaningful Work: Your work directly contributes to the progress of cases and the experience of clients navigating difficult circumstances.
  • Take Ownership: Manage important case tasks, deadlines, documentation, and litigation activities.
  • Expand Your Experience: Work across both pre-litigation and litigation and gain exposure to discovery, depositions, court filings, and trial preparation.
  • Work Remotely: Enjoy the flexibility of working from outside the United States while collaborating with a U.S.-based legal team.
  • Be Recognized: Strong performance, initiative, and reliability are valued and rewarded.

  • Prepare, draft, and organize pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, correspondence, and other litigation documents under appropriate supervision.
  • Coordinate discovery, track responses, organize supporting documentation, and follow up on outstanding items.
  • Monitor and calendar court deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial dates.
  • Assist with court filings and ensure documents are prepared accurately and submitted on time.
  • Organize evidence, medical records, discovery materials, exhibits, witness information, and other case materials.
  • Assist with deposition and trial preparation.
  • Maintain organized electronic case files so critical information is accurate and readily accessible.

Pre-Litigation Support

  • Apply your understanding of the pre-litigation personal injury process and how cases develop toward settlement or litigation.
  • Review and organize medical records, medical bills, accident reports, and other supporting documentation.
  • Assist with settlement demand packages and related case materials.
  • Maintain familiarity with insurance claims, medical treatment documentation, and case development.
  • Help organize case materials when matters transition from pre-litigation to litigation.

Client Communication

  • Serve as a professional point of contact for clients regarding case updates, scheduling, documentation, and general questions.
  • Maintain consistent, responsive, and compassionate communication.
  • Obtain information and documentation needed to move cases forward.
  • Handle confidential client information with discretion and professionalism.

Case Management & Team Support

  • Open, organize, and maintain client files in Filevine or similar case management software.
  • Maintain accurate case notes, documents, tasks, and deadlines.
  • Schedule client meetings, depositions, mediations, and other case-related appointments.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, case managers, legal assistants, and investigators.
  • Assist with records retrieval, intake-related tasks, and other case support as needed.

This is a high client contact, fast-paced legal environment where your work directly impacts clients and the progress of their cases. You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of your work, collaborate with experienced legal professionals, and develop your knowledge of U.S. personal injury practice.
